Mr. Myron Charowsky is not only a middle school music teacher/band director, but he is also a saxophonist Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic. Originally from Minersville, Pa., his Air Force career began in May 1998.
Sergeant Charowsky graduated from Minersville Area High School, Minersville, Pa. He holds a bachelor's of Science degree in music education from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pa. and a master's of education degree from Alvernia University, Reading, Pa.
Sergeant Charowsky teaches 5th Grade Introductory Band. He is also the director of the marching band, concert band, jazz band and the award winning pit band, which won the Hershey Theater Apollo Award for best pit band in 2011. As a music teacher, he is a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. He has studied with artists such as Dr. Jeremy Justeson, Tim Price and Tom Strohman. In his community, he performs with the Cressona Community Band and the Tri-Valley Community Band.
Sergeant Charowsky enlisted in the United States Army in 1991 completing basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC. Upon completion of basic training, he spent 6 months at the Navy School of Music honing his skills as a musician. He is a graduate of two military schools: the Army Primary Leadership Development Course and Airman Leadership School.
